Replacing the Philips WelcomeEye monitor speaker

You can't hear visitors or the ringer doesn't work? Your monitor's speaker needs replacing. Before carrying out any work or maintenance, please switch off all components of your video door entry system and stand on a suitable surface to avoid scratching the screen.

Materials needed:

Phillips screwdriver, plastic spatula, precision tweezers, B-7000 glue tube

Tutorial steps:

Step 1: Remove the monitor's rear bracket

  • Turn the monitor over.
  • Remove the 4 rear screws from the monitor using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Insert the plastic spatula on the lower part of the screen and lever slightly.
  • Remove the rear panel from the monitor.

Step 2: Remove the loudspeaker

  • The speaker is located at the bottom right of the monitor and is glued to the chassis.
  • Remove the loudspeaker connector using the precision pliers, pulling slightly on the connector.
  • Slightly peel off the black retaining strip.
  • Slide the plastic spatula over the lower part of the speaker and lever slightly to release it.
  • Remove speaker

Step 3: Speaker replacement

  • Using B-7000 glue, apply a strip of glue around the speaker support. Be careful not to apply too much.
  • Then glue the new loudspeaker in place of the defective one.
